Charting a way through to the top of a chosen career isn’t always an easy thing for many. The average human will change careers 5-7 times in his lifetime. Career counselors are trained and certified to help humans, especially students and professionals, make more beneficial and less emotional decisions where careers are concerned. Talking to a career counselor about your job is definitely better than talking to a friend since such conversations are less sensitive and more strategic. They are better equipped to helping you handle career change, job loss, and lack of advancement. You are also better protected against human factors like betrayal and gossips, as career counselors are ethically bound to keep client-counselor conversations strictly private and highly confidential.
